GRAPHICS REPORTER

Knight Ridder/Tribune (KRT) Graphics seeking an energetic, enthusiastic graphics reporter to join its award-winning staff. KRT offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while creating infographics for clients worldwide.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for creative thinkers who can suggest graphic ideas on the biggest news stories of the day, write clearly and concisely, research visuals and work closely with staff artists to produce daily breaking news and feature graphics.

EXPERIENCE: Four-year college degree in journalism, communications or similar, plus at least two years experience in creating infographics for newspapers or other publications. Strong news judgment, effective writing/reporting, knowledge of AP Style and experience meeting tight deadlines essential. Proficiency in drawing software (Illustrator or FreeHand) and strong interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of medicine and science a plus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Company?s sales strategy through direct sales and content licensing of its products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and sign up new customers within an assigned territory.
  • Implement Sales plans to increase sales among existing customers.
  • Provide demonstrations and training to customers and prospective customers.
  • Develop objectives and implement territory action plans.
  • Provide reports as required and travel as necessary.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years information content sales experience or content licensing experience in Media, Internet, or online Services.

Marketing and Communications Manager

NewsCom, a global content licensing company, is looking for a hardworking and experienced person who is passionate about news, information and current events, to package, position, and promote its products and business offerings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting NewsCom's strategy through creative and results-focused marketing communications campaigns. Responsibilities include overall management of the NewsCom website design, with presentation of featured content to end-users, organizing and managing direct email and RSS campaigns, and supporting NewsCom's sales, marketing and partnership programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Strategic Communications Plan for NewsCom's publisher and advertising products, working closely with NewsCom's sales and marketing teams.
  • Implement marketing programs using various selling tactics including direct marketing, affiliate marketing, online advertising and RSS promotions.
  • Develop brand awareness campaigns and creative promotions to increase awareness of NewsCom's services.
  • Create marketing materials including sales collateral, presentations, online advertising, RSS and email newsletters.
  • Develop and oversees analytical processes to better understand customer behavior and content usage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years marketing experience.
  • 1-3 years Internet, online services or media industry experience.
  • Strong ability for determining the best possible way to position products.
  • Understanding of the news and web publishing markets, search, and online advertising
  • Proven capability to deliver exceptional and highly creative and effective marketing campaigns.

Education and language skills:

  • BA/BS degree in marketing or business affairs or equivalent work experience
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in a second language a plus.
